In Act 2, Scene 2, the organ did not work on the first cue. The concert master was called and asked to tell the conductor to start with the orchestra because at the time the cause of the organ's failure was not known. Apparently the concert manager didn't relay the message because the music didn't start. A stage manager was then sent to the pit with the same message and eventually the conductor began with bar 5 (skipping the 4 organ measures). The problem with the organ was fixed and the scene proceeded without further incident.
