Metropolitan Opera House, Fri, February 21, 1986
Debut : Myung-Whun Chung
Simon Boccanegra (95)
Giuseppe Verdi | Francesco Maria Piave/Arrigo Boito
Simon Boccanegra received ten performances this season.
The production was originally designed and directed for Lyric Opera of Chicago by Pier Luigi Pizzi, who attended some rehearsals for the Metropolitan Opera staging of the '84-'85 season, but objected to certain costumes and props introduced by the Met's director, Tito Capobianco.
