Die Zauberflöte
Metropolitan Opera House, Mon, January 17, 1977
Die Zauberflöte (214)
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart | Emanuel Schikaneder
Charles Anthony was scheduled to replace Jon Garrison as a Priest, and John Carpenter, in turn, to replace Anthony as a Guard. Instead, Paul Franke substituted in both roles. Because he was costumed as the Priest, Franke sang the Guard from the wings while Bodo Igesz performed the role onstage.
