"La Traviata" was presented by L. Bamberger and Company as the third event in its musical season at the Mosque Theater last night, before a brilliant audience that packed the house.

The beautiful Verdi opera, with Lawrence Tibbett, Nino Martini and Vina Bovy in the leading roles, was never more magnificently rendered, nor, for that matter, enthusiastically received.

Miss Bovy made a lovely Violetta, and as the unhappy lady of the camellias gave a fine performance.

Her voice is limpid, clear and of an incredibly rich tonal quality which was manipulated adroitly and with great effectiveness throughout the opera.

Martini as Alfredo the lover, was both charming and in excellent voice while Tibbett as the elder Germont who interrupts the love of the two young people, was in magnificent form.

In keeping with the high quality of the performance was the ballet which opened the third act. The orchestra was led by Ettore Panizza.

Proceeds will be contributed to the Hospital and Home for Crippled Children.

Two concerts are scheduled for the balance of the Bamberger series, with Kirsten Flagstad appearing as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Feb. 15, and John McCormack as soloist with the same organization March 12.
