La Fanciulla del West
Metropolitan Opera House, Thu, November 16, 1911
Debut : Lambert Murphy
La Fanciulla del West (12)
Giacomo Puccini | Guelfo Civinini/Carlo Zangarini
La Fanciulla del West received ten performances this season.
According to the New York Times, this revival introduced some cuts to the score. "There have been some cuts made that may be recorded with gratitude, especially in the very long first act, as the incidents of the reading of the letters from home, and the character of Jack Rabbit the Indian and his doings have been elided without loss to the local color of the Western mining camp saloon which Mr. Puccini labored so valiantly to depict in his music."
