Review 1:
Review in The New York Times
METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE.
The performance of "Die Walküre" at the Metropolitan Opera House last evening was excellent in spirit and in execution. It would be too much to expect that Herr Perotti should break the habits of years at short notice, and his exuberance of gesticulation and lack of repose must be viewed with some leniency in consideration of his fervor and honest devotion to the role of Siegmund. He was in good voice last evening and sang with good effect.
Frau Lehmann, as Sieglinde, was in splendid voice, and she sang with magnificent enthusiasm guided by unerring judgment and admirable vocal art. Frau Moran-Olden repeated her earnest and dramatic impersonation of Brünnhilde. Herr Fischer was again the familiar Wotan, his noble voice being in good condition. Fräulein Reil was Fricka, and Herr Weiss was Hunding. The choir of Valkyr maidens sang with plenty of voice. The orchestra was in good form.
