Review 1:

Review in the New York Times:

"Mignon" was repeated last evening at the Metropolitan Opera-house before a very large, but not very demonstrative, audience, The performance moved with great smoothness and was generally effective. Mme. Nilsson's interpretation of the title rôle has become so familiar a picture to opera-goers that it needs little more comment than a statement that it was given with the same carefulness and charm of expression that have always characterized it. The "Non cognosei il bel suol" was sung with Mme. Nilsson's usual finish, and in the more dramatic work of the later scenes she was always forceful. Mlle. Alwina Valleria sang the brilliant music of Filina in her usual tasteful style, and Mme. Scalchi's Federico was, as it always is, a charming performance. Signor Mirabella was the Lotario, and sang the music of the part in an excellent manner. M. Capoul's Guglielmo was graceful. Signor Contini and Signor Corsini, as Giarno and Laerte, were acceptable. The chorus did its work generally with precision and spirit. The orchestra, still raised to the level of the orchestra floor, was occasionally too generous in brass, but otherwise was good.
